Richard S. Sternberg, Principal Broker/CEO

A Potomac resident since 1988, Richard firmly believes that Montgomery County real estate commissions have become, in his words, “bloated, anti-competitive, and oligopolistic.” A 1977 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s College and Graduate School as well as a 1983 cum laude graduate of Georgetown Law, Richard has been an A-rated lawyer in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia for almost a quarter-century. He got a real estate broker’s license and founded MWRealty to give Montgomery County home sellers an effective alternative to high-priced brokerages providing discount services.

Richard is a proud member of the National Association of Realtors, and he subscribes to its code of ethics. He is also a member of the Maryland Association of Realtors and the Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors. He is a member of MWRealty's exclusive "Million-Dollar Club," having earned commissions on over a million dollars in sales this year.

A native of Ghana , “Alex” Ofori-Atta attended the University of Ibidan in Nigeria, graduating in 1986 with a degree in wildlife management. He came to the U.S. in 1987, and eventually became a U.S. citizen. Trained in the U.S. as a respiratory therapist. Alex became a real estate agent in 2003. Joining MWRealty, he says, “puts me on the ground floor of something that’s going to be really big.” Alex specializes in serving buyers seeking new homes, but he’ll also be happy to take your listing.
